About Guy Perrotta
Guy Perrotta is a Fellow Member of the Explorers Club and a Member of the Directors Guild of America. He is an accomplished educator and documentary filmmaker. What began as a passion for all things cinema led to his working in the field and helping the next generation to achieve their goals. He acts as a consultancy for filmmakers, academics, organizations, as well as aspiring media producers through VOICES, aiming to enhance innovation and design for a better planet.
The VOICES PROJECT includes successful initiatives focused on collaboration. Guy’s goal is to engage a wide audience in meaningful discussions through storytelling. Through VOICES he integrates diverse perspectives and a polyphonic approach in exploration and education.
His Work
Interactive, interdisciplinary, his ventures include:
Producing, directing, researching, and writing a feature film about beautiful and startling events in Gaelic history (Voices Over the Water)
Producing award-winning television shows about American, British, and Indigenous music, history, and culture for PBS (e.g. Mystic Voices)
Distribution of a feature-length program on digital platforms (e.g. Apple TV, Amazon, Google Play)
Development of a digicast and multimedia installation for the VOICES PROJECT about marginalized history
Swimming with sharks and helping to tag them for conservation research to help shed light on a common media misperception about these animals
Acting as production consultant and advisor for filmmakers seeking guidance from development through casting through distribution
Supporting educational programs on teaching archaeology skills and digital production to help uncover and document the remains of a lost medieval village
